MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – Reading Cinemas Australia, part of Reading International, Inc, (“Reading”) announced today that it will commence a staged re-opening of its Australian cinema locations this month. Reading will first open 4 of its cinemas across South Australia and Western Australia on Thursday 11 June, followed by its 7 Victorian locations on
Monday 22 June. A date for the Company’s remaining locations in NSW, QLD and TAS will be announced following
further government advice.
The re-opening plan is in line with Government and Health department regulations via the relevant State based easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
Reading has implemented a range of new measures to ensure the ongoing safety of customers, staff and the general community. Included in the measures is a reduction in auditorium and foyer capacities and a staggered seating approach to ensure compliant physical distancing for all cinema goers. A stringent cleaning program involving sanitising of all high touch point areas will also be introduced.
“We are excited to welcome our loyal customers across the country back to the movies. It has been a difficult few months for everyone and we look forward to providing a welcome distraction as Australia emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic” said Mark Douglas, Reading Cinemas Australia’s Managing Director. “We commend the national cabinet on their handling of the pandemic and look forward to working closely with them over the coming months.”
TICKETS FOR EACH LOCATION WILL BE ON SALE SOON AT WWW.READINGCINEMAS.COM.AU
